After every thing that’s happened the last week, I started thinking about what Huang’s World would look like if I were to bring it back. To be honest, I didn’t miss it when I left Vice because there were so many food travel shows saying the same thing that I was happy to not say anything. I found the chef-driven food landscape boring and bounced as I’ve been known to do lol.
When Tony was doing it, it felt like we were watching the beautiful game. It wasn’t about him, there was always a thoughtful angle, and it was like watching an op-ed unfold over several meals. Then every Producer tried to make Tony’s show for a different demographic. Every channel had their version of No Reservations for people who like the outdoors, people who identify as very very Italian, and Vice basically tried to make No Reservations for dudes with tattoos and depending on how many tattoos you had you liked either myself, Action, or Matty.
